frequently asked questions

  1. I forgot to cancel my membership and just realized that I am still being charged. Can I get a refund?
Martial art training is similar to other services such as cell phones, internet, cable television, insurance, rent, mortgages, etc. Even if the service was not used, it still needs to be paid for. Our policy is that cancellation notices must be submitted in writing in order to take effect and cancel your membership with us in all cases. Missing class or not attending classes for periods at a time does not qualify as legitimate cancellation of your membeship agreement. We require a minimum 30 day written cancellation notice before your last payment is cancelled.  As an example, if you cancel on January 1st, your last payment will be February 1st.

  1. Can I put my membership on hold?
We understand that sometimes life and money circumstances happen. Holding your membership at a reduced monthly rate (with at least two week advanced notice) is a great way to keep you connected as an ongoing member of our academy. The hold would start after the next billing cycle and full payment would resume when notice and regular participation happens. We will hold your membership rate and roster spot for up to 2 months. If circumstance requires more time than we request you notify us so we can discuss options. Holding your membership also guarantees that if prices go up while you are out, your rate will stay the same. It also secures your roster spot will be there when you return. The standard membership hold rate is $50 per month. Putting a membership on hold is not a cancellation notice and does not satisfy our 30 day cancellation notice policy.
