Our Source
Our academy embraces the critical importance of recognizing and honoring the "source" of our martial art lineage, history, combative arts and training methods. The seed of knowledge and grain of information we are able to share with you is a direct result of the dedication, ambition, sacrifice, study and mastery my mentors and teachers have exemplified throughout their lives and martial paths. As the Head Instructor of our academy I find it as a personal privilege and honor to be entrusted with the arts, teachings and lineages of these great exemplary men. Punong Guro 2nd Leonard Trigg is the keeper and heir of the great legacies of Punong Guro 1st Edgar G. Sulite, Maestro Ted LucayLucay, the founder of Trigg Boxing Pugilism and Applied Philosophical Arts Institute, Ajarn Surachai Sirisute is the pioneering trailblazer of Thai Boxing and Thai Martial Culture introducing and spreading the art to the U.S. and over 15 countries worldwide for more than 40 years and Grandmaster Richard S. Bustillo, the founder of the International Martial Arts & Boxing Academy, original Bruce Lee student, JKD student and Filipino Martial Arts pioneering partner of the legendary Grandmaster Dan Inosanto. It is with the influence and example of these luminaries that I strive to represent, honor with great care and respect.
In the Internet age we may tend to take information for granted. In an age where it's possible to study martial art with a YouTube instructor, read a book or watch a training video, we seek to extend our craft beyond that. It goes back generations, and we are fortunate to be a part of its blossoming as it has taken place up to this point. I seek not to bore you but only to hopefully help you understand that United Source is not intended to be solely a namesake, but to hold gratitude for those who have paved our way. Punong Guro 2nd Leonard Trigg is the foundation upon which I am honored to stand, whose acceptance of me as a pupil and personal guidance in the areas of Filipino Martial Art, Chinese Martial Art (Bruce Lee Method), Western Martial Art (Boxing Pugilism), Sirisute Method Thai Boxing and equally if not more importantly, development in philosophical life art exceeds beyond living a dream. Ajarn Surachai Sirisute and his method of Thai Boxing makes the joy, privledge and responsibility of being one of his representatives one of the greatest highlights and achievements thus far along this path. My admiration for Ajarn Chai, Thai Martial Culture and Sirisute Method Thai Boxing gives me the inspiration to continue learning and sharing such a beautiful and effective martial way with those seeking Authentic Muay Thai. Grandmaster Richard S. Bustillo and his Hawaiian "ohana" spirit and welcoming of me as a pupil and 2nd generation representative of his IMB way and the art of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do is a responsibility and honor in which I am forever grateful. Grandmaster Bustillo embodies where Sijo Bruce Lee sought to guide us "towards our own personal liberation." In closing, it is upon this "Source" foundation which I stand personally and our academy stands professionally. Our goal is to share with you, our community and society at large, the beauty and life long benefits of authentic martial art, tradition and culture with a modern day suitability.
